WHAT ARE LAMDA LESSONS?
The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) is the oldest drama school in the UK, situated in London. Sheryll is offering 'one to one' coaching of their syllabus either from her home in Swindon, on-line with SKYPE, or a blend of both. Children can take lessons, to improve confidence, develop speech skills and to help with audition preparation. The process of studying for a LAMDA exam involves training in speech and drama techniques and will help to develop general performing arts skills. A student can study the syllabus without taking an exam to develop skills in communication, creativity and self-expression.
ONE-TO-ONE LESSONS
Promising Personalized Guidance Every Step of the Way
Sheryll has been teaching the LAMDA syllabus for 21 years. She started by teaching LAMDA lessons for Stagecoach Performing Arts Schools in Surrey and then at her own Stagecoach School in Swindon. She later mentored Drama teachers to become LAMDA teachers at her school and traveled the country as an examiner for LAMDA. Sheryll has now retired from her Stage School to focus on her own LAMDA coaching.

WORKING WITH YOUR CHILD
As an experienced Performing Arts Tutor, Sheryll can identify students’ areas of need and work with them in positive, constructive ways to achieve success. She designs her lessons according to her students’ needs, with an emphasis on confidence-boosting activities.
THE LAMDA SYLLABUS
The LAMDA syllabus is extensive in Performing Arts. These are the areas which Sheryll specialises in teaching:
Verse & Prose – a great introduction to exams at the lower grades, focusing on initially poetry and conversation skills.
Acting – the learning and performing of two Drama speeches at the lower levels. Includes speech skills as well as understanding Acting technique and text.
Speaking in Public – the writing, preparing and performing of speeches. This syllabus teaches great life skills.
Mime – exploring telling a story through movement and facial expression. Great for younger students or those who struggle to learn lines.
Devising Drama – creating and writing monolgues to perform. Wonderful for students who hate learning lines, as the words are their own.
Please get in touch and together we can achieve great results.
Sheryll has been a great inspiration both as a LAMDA tutor and as a mentor in my journey through taking LAMDA exams and to becoming a LAMDA tutor myself. I would recommend her without doubt.
